Killed In Action MissionAt 3:30 in the morning of the 13th Candlestick spotted a target near Ban Nampakhon, 20 miles SW of the Ban Karai Pass in southern Laos. A pair of B-57s was called in to hit the target but during the bomb run one of the B-57s struck the C-123. The B-57 crashed immediately and the C-123 started a slow spin towards the ground. The pilot was temporarily knocked unconscious, and when he came to he saw that the other flight deck crew had already gone,and he also bailed out.
